CEI Secretary General Hon. Franco Dal Mas, paid an official visit to Podgorica on 2 April, where he met with the Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Ervin Ibrahimović.

A new Know-how Exchange Programme (KEP) project financed by Italy through the CEI Fund at the EBRD and titled CEI for Ukraine’s Future. Empowering Ukrainian Municipalities through Polish Expertise in Fund Management and Project Practices for Pre-Accession Readiness of Ukraine has commenced in March this year.

On 25 and 26 March 2025, the CEI-Executive Secretariat (CEI-ES) attended the “Global Ministerial Dialogue on Science Diplomacy”, in Paris at the Headquarters of UNESCO. The programme envisaged a multistakeholder high-level conference and a global ministerial segment.

On 25 March, the ASAP Steering Committee, led by the CEI – Executive Secretariat (CEI-ES), convened in Portorož, Slovenia, for a key project meeting hosted by the Faculty of Maritime Studies and Transport of the University of Ljubljana (UL-FPP).

On 26 March 2025, the Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Antonio Tajani, paid an official visit to the CEI - Executive Secretariat.

On 21 March 2025, the CEI-Executive Secretariat participated in the workshop the “Role of Science Diplomacy in Water Supplies”, held in Venice in the framework of the UN World Water Day and the World Day for Glaciers.

The CEI is pleased to announce two new appointments and a term renewal within its Executive Secretariat (CEI-ES), reinforcing its leadership team.

On 24 March 2025, the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Italy), Hon. Maria Tripodi, paid an institutional visit to the CEI - Executive Secretariat.

During the meeting, Undersecretary Tripodi held discussions with the Secretary General of the CEI, Hon. Franco Dal Mas, and the Secretariat team.

On 20 -21 March 2025, THE PRO.CARE.FUL consortium met in Budapest to discuss the latest outcomes related to the testing of the PRO.CARE.FUL hybrid model, evaluate the first results and their impact, as well as plan forthcoming scaling up events and results .

The strategic role of the Friuli Venezia Giulia (FVG) Autonomous Region as a bridge between the European Union and the Western Balkans, both in diplomatic and economic terms, was the focus of a meeting held this morning at the Regional Palace in Trieste between CEI Secretary General Franco Dal Mas and the Governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Massimiliano Fedriga.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is lending 10 million EUR to Ternopilelectrotrans, a municipal public transport operator in the city of Ternopil, an economic centre in western Ukraine.

 

The CEI Committee of National Coordinators Committee gathered in Belgrade on 27 February for their first meeting under the Serbian Presidency 2025.

On 24 February 2025, in Tirana, CEI Secretary General Franco Dal Mas, met with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Igli Hasani.

The main topics of discussion were: the promotion of European integration, regional cooperation, the situation in Ukraine, sustainable development, and the strengthening of the CEI.

Local and international stakeholders gathered in Durres, Albania, on 19 February to discuss preservation, protection and exploitation of the marine environment, which is essential to support blue growth, and the wide range of sectors involved, from fishery, aquaculture, maritime transport, coastal, marine and maritime tourism.

On 14 February 2025, the CEI-Executive Secretariat participated in a seminar on “Territorial Cooperation in Europe and in the Region Friuli Venezia Giulia”, organised by the Department of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Trieste.

Following his meetings in Belgrade and Bratislava, Secretary General Franco Dal Mas continued his international tour to the CEI Member States with a visit to Budapest where he held a constructive meeting with Péter Sztáray, Hungary’s Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Security Policy, and Energy Security.

On 13 February 2025, CEI Secretary General Franco Dal Mas, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia, Juraj Blanár, in Bratislava to present the priorities of the CEI and discuss cooperation with Slovakia.

On 11 February, CEI Secretary General Franco Dal Mas took part in a coordination meeting at the Rectorate of the University of Udine, focused on the goal of making the Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region (FVG) a model of resilience for Europe.
