Secretariat participates in RCC 18th Annual Meeting in Sofia

Deputy Secretary General, Ivana Pejović, participated in the 18th Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Annual Meeting, co-chaired with the Bulgarian Chairmanship-in-Office of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) in Sofia on 9 June 2026.

The event brought together representatives of regional organisations and institutions to reflect on the achievements of regional cooperation and discuss future priorities for South-East Europe.

In her remarks, DSG Pejović highlighted the importance of translating dialogue into concrete action and tangible results for citizens across the region. She stressed that, in the face of increasingly complex challenges, stronger partnerships, effective coordination and the efficient use of available resources are essential to advancing sustainable development, regional connectivity and European integration.

She also reaffirmed the CEI’s readiness to contribute through its various instruments, project-based activities, capacity-building programmes and policy dialogue platforms, underlining the Organisation’s role as a practical facilitator of regional cooperation and a complementary instrument supporting European integration.

The event also underscored the growing importance of synergies among regional organisations in addressing common challenges and promoting stability, prosperity and resilience throughout South-East Europe.
