The Workshop Connecting the Adriatic-Ionian Region through Advanced Technology and Training for the Energy Transition in the Port Sector was held in Trieste on 28 November 2024 convening stakeholders from across the Adriatic-Ionian region to foster sustainability, connectivity, and competitiveness in the port sector.
On 27 November in Udine the CEI- Executive Secretariat took part in the “ResiliEnhance Platform 2024 Meeting” gathering experts and stakeholders from Central and Eastern Europe at the International Centre for Mechanical Sciences (CISM) in Udine.
On 8 November 2024, the CEI-Executive Secretariat, in cooperation with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and the Transport Community Permanent Secretariat, hosted the public event “Advancing regional integration through enhanced passenger rail services in the CEI region”.
The GreenPATH project Steering Committee convened from 14 -16 October at the EUREF Campus in Berlin, a reference site and a symbol of the shift to renewable energy and sustainable mobility in Germany.
On 15 -16 October in Valencia, the CEI-Executive Secretariat attended the second project meeting of the TREASURE project, organised in Valencia by the Fundacion Valenciaport.
The GRETA project (Greening Regional Freight Transport in Functional Urban Areas) successfully brought together experts from the logistics sector and from public authorities to discuss alternatives in the last-mile freight deliveries in urban areas at the event “Decarbonizing last mile deliveries in FUAS” hosted at the Green Logistics Expo in Padua on 9 October - one of Italy’s most valuable forums for discussing sustainable logistics.
Building on the success of the NAMIRS project, a new project funded by the Interreg IPA Adrion Programme, ASAP - the Adriatic Sensitive Areas Protection - Mechanism, was officially launched on 24 September 2024 at the CEI’s premises.
The 8th and concluding event of the promotional roadshow of the Big Science Business Forum (BSBF) in CEI countries was held in Podgorica on 12 July 2024.

The CEI-Executive Secretariat (CEI-ES) recently concluded (Viareggio, 30 May 2024) its role as an observer at the “Ramogepol 2024 Versiliana,” the recent exercise at sea and on shore conducted within the framework of the Ramoge agreement.
Territorial and cross-border cooperation, focusing on the Italy-Slovenia experience, was the main objective of a two-day study visit held in Trieste and Gorizia on 28-29 May.

24 April 2024 marks a historic moment in the promotion of cross-border mobility with the launch of the first direct train service between Villa Opicina and Rijeka after over 50 years.

The official launch of the Regional Inclusive Biobased Entrepreneurship Solutions (RIBES) project under Horizon Europe was held at the CEI headquarters in Trieste on 21 March.
