Celebrating distinguished visits and diplomatic milestones...
On the occasion of the official visit on 26 March 2025 by the Hon. Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, to the headquarters of the Central European Initiative (CEI) in Trieste, the CEI Book of Honour was inaugurated. This emblem of cooperation, shared commitment, and active remembrance stands as a significant testimony to the common aspiration to build a stronger, fairer, and more cohesive Europe.
The Honorary Book is not intended as a mere commemorative record, but rather as a symbolic instrument portraying the evolution of the CEI’s diplomatic and political journey. It offers a lasting space to acknowledge the ongoing commitment to enhancing cooperation among the countries of Central, Eastern, and South-Eastern Europe.
Its creation represents a major milestone in documenting the long-standing path of the Organisation, preserving the core values that have guided and inspired the CEI since its inception. Each entry bears witness to the shared endeavor of the Member States to strengthen dialogue, promote peace, and advance sustainable development — the fundamental objectives at the heart of the CEI’s mission.
Furthermore, the Book of Honour invites reflection on the CEI’s strategic significance and the prospects that international cooperation offers for Europe's future. Each signature is a historic marker in the shared narrative of the Continent, a tangible sign of the enduring commitment to a renewed Europe, open to dialogue and collaboration.
The Book of Honour is preserved at the office of the CEI - Executive Secretariat, which is entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining a register documenting the signatories, the occasion, and the date of each visit.
