Musicians, experts, teachers, students, critics, press, and interested audience virtually gathered for the “CEI Piano Forum” on 12 March 2021, organised by the Piano FVG Association in the framework of the International Piano Competition, a well-renowned contest attracting highly qualified young pianists from all over the world.
The CEI’s funding granted within the framework of the Covid-19 Extraordinary Call has empowered SCHOOLS.BY to strengthen their online service promoting distance learning in Belarus. In particular, the support has enabled them to develop additional tools in their transition to distance learning.

The CEI Award 2020 at the Trieste Film Festival goes to Marko Škop from Slovakia for his film Let there be light/Nech je svetlo. It was presented by Zoran Jovanovic, CEI Deputy Secretary General, on the occasion of the awarding ceremony in Trieste on 20 January.
The Opening Ceremony of the restored and remodelled Tartini House (Casa Tartini) in Piran, Slovenia took place on 8 November. The House where the great composer and violinist Giuseppe Tartini was born in Piran, Slovenia (at the time, part of the Republic of Venice), has been renovated in the framework of tARTini project, funded by Interreg Italy-Slovenia.
Over 250 participants representing editors-in-chief, leading journalists, business professionals, civil society and academia from the CEI region and beyond as well as representatives of international organisations and state institutions gathered in Zagreb, Croatia, on 4-5 November for the South East Europe Media Forum (SEEMF).
The Festival Identity meeting took place on 26-28 October 2019 in the framework of the 23rd Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival.
The 10th CEI Regional Forum for Health, Wellness & Spa Industry held in Belgrade (Serbia) on 22 October aimed at safeguarding cultural heritage, cultural tourism and development of wellness tourism based on spa heritage and tradition. The mission of the event was to promote sustainable development of wellness and spa tourism by providing know-how transfer based on latest trends and best practice examples.
Under the title "1989-2019 the awakening of the Mitteleuropa, nostalgia for the future", the 15th edition of the Forum held on 18 October in Udine, witnessed the participation of diplomatic and institutional representatives from 14 Central and Eastern European and Balkan countries as well as of representatives from regional/local institutions and academia.
The international “Crossing Borders” conference - held in Maribor, Slovenia on 14-16 October witnessed a wide range of presentations and lectures about: audience development strategies, approaches to increase attendance in theatres and examples of good practice case studies.
In the framework of the regional project SEE Mosaics: developing a network of mosaic conservation professionals and promoting mosaic heritage in SE Europe, the SEE Mosaics Meeting V “Conservation of mosaic bedding layers – how to preserve” was held in Zaječar (Serbia) on 1-4 October.
Film New Europe (FNE) together with the Warsaw Kids Forum (WKFF) organised an event in Warsaw on 25-27 September under the title “Inspiration day”. The event supported by the CEI Cooperation Fund aimed at connecting the guests of the Warsaw Kids Forum with leading experts in content produced by child and youth audiences.
Our young professionals Simon Andov and Faris Mahmutovic actively took part in the World Forum in Trieste on 27-29 September. Their paper titled "There’s No time left – climate crises are knocking on our future’s door", mentioned the CEI commitments towards environmental protection and climate change.
Ivan Shopov, born in 1987 in Skopje, North Macedonia, graduated from the “Blazhe Koneski” Faculty of Philology in Skopje, general and comparative literature section.
On 11 September the final event of the COME-IN! project took place at the European Parliament. The CEI-ES is particularly proud as Lead Partner of the Project, to have coordinated and worked with 14 partners over the last three years.
The three-day event on 29-31 August, supported through the CEI Cooperation Fund in Petrovaradin (Serbia), gathered international experts/professors/researchers in Central Europe who shared their know-how on the topic of preservation and sustainable management of architectural heritage.
