The intense 6-month implementation period of creative innovation within the 48 SMEs awarded with a 4helix+ innovation voucher has recently been concluded.
The 14th International Distance Education Conference (DisCo) was held in Prague on 20 – 21 June and organised by the Centre for Higher Education Studies and West Bohemia University at the premises of Microsoft Prague. The event, supported through the CEI Cooperation Fund, gathered about 100 participants from 17 countries worldwide.
The 7th edition of the International Master in Public Procurement Management (IMPPM) will kick off at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome on 5 March. The IMPPM is jointly organised by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the University of Rome ToR Vergata (Italy) and co-financed by the CEI Fund at the EBRD contributed by Italy. At the opening ceremony, a keynote address will be delivered by Mr. Antonio Capobianco, Acting Head of the OECD Competion Division.
Secretary General Roberto Antonione presented the CEI action in support of science diplomacy during an event focused on the launch of the publication “Trieste for Science – Sharing Innovation for Change”.
On the occasion of the Committee of National Coordinators’ meeting in Trieste on 4 October, the CEI- Executive Secretariat (CEI) organised a visit to the Scientific Centres based in Trieste.
RAD 2018 was organised by the RAD Association in cooperation with the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, University of Niš on 18-22 June. The sixth edition gathered 292 participants from 39 countries, 169 of which were from CEI countries.
The two-day international conference held in Skopje, Macedonia on 9-10 November centered around the topics of the SME Instrument and Horizon 2020. The event was opened by Natascia LAI from the Executive Agency for SMEs, European Commission, who presented the possibilities the programme offered to companies, explained what the Commission was looking for in an innovative project and what the future brought in terms of funding of innovative ideas.
Over 100 scientists gathered in Sveti Martin na Muri, Croatia on 3-7 September, at the International scientific symposium on plasma chemistry (CESPC).
The conference organised by the Institute of Physics in Zagreb tackled topics such as fundamental problems, modelling and diagnostics, new materials, energy technologies, environmental protection, bio and medical plasma technologies, surface processes, nanostructured materials, and as the first time at CESPC, emerging food and agriculture plasma technologies.
The TEACHBACK Programme - teaching the teachers, developing the methods of education and learning in the field of contemporary performing arts (dance) - took place on 21 - 28 August at the Scout Centre in Ohrid, Macedonia. The event was organised as part of the Nomad Dance Academy Summer through two main programme lines: Workshops and Discussions/Presentations.
23 students from 9 CEI Member States (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine), among others, participated in the 2017 Edition of the EU and Legal Reform Summer School held on 9-15 July in Igalo, Montenegro.
The Adult Education Institution Dante organised the 2nd International Scientific Conference on Adult Education "Developing and Understanding Professional Identity of Adult Educators" at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Rijeka (Croatia) on 14 - 17 June.
Under the title “Open education as a way to a knowledge society”, the International Conference DisCo 2017 was held at the Microsoft office in Prague on 26-27 June. The 12th edition of the event was organised by the Centre for Higher Education Studies and the Department of Information Science and Librarianship at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University and West Bohemia University.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the AREA Science Park and the Central European Initiative (CEI) in Trieste on 10 February 2017, aims at supporting CEI Member States in developing strategies and actions to promote progress and competitiveness of the territories through innovation and research.
