Building on the close cooperation in the area of health between the CEI and WHO Regional Office for Europe, a joint CEI-WHO high-level expert meeting was held on 28 September, in the framework of the Bulgarian CEI Presidency.

Support to Ukraine; energy and food security; and the European integration, were the main topics of discussion at the informal MFA meeting in New York on 22 September, held on the margins of the UN General Assembly, where the CEI has observer status. 

On 14 June, a delegation from the CEI-Executive Secretariat headed by Secretary General Roberto Antonione paid a visit to Zagreb to meet with the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenković and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Gordan Grlić Radman.

The Central European Initiative (CEI) strongly condemns the unjustifiable, more than a month-long military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, a valued member of the CEI. The Russian assault on medical institutions, using cluster bombs and killing innocent civilians is inhumane and completely unacceptable.

The 1st Committee of National Coordinators Meeting under the Bulgarian CEI Presidency was held in Trieste on 23 February.

On 8 October, Ministers, State Secretaries and other high officials dealing with environmental issues in CEI countries gathered in Trieste for a Conference organised within the Sea Summit hosted by the world-renowned regatta, the “Barcolana”. 

“Waste Management” and “Waters without Borders” were the themes of this event held under the Montenegrin Presidency.
