FINAL COMMUNIQUE': CEI Ministerial Meeting on Science and Technology

Ministers, Deputy Ministers and High Officials from the Member Countries of the Central European Initiative (CEI) and from the European Commission met in Trieste (Italy) on 24 September 2014. The welcome addresses were delivered by the CEI Secretary General, Ambassador Caracciolo di Vietri, by the Director General of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Science, Research and Economy, Mr. Elmar Pichl, on behalf of the CEI Presidency, and by the President of the Friuli-Venezia-Giulia Region, Debora Serracchiani.

CEI-RCC Memorandum of Understanding signed in Vienna

The CEI and the RCC signed a new two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) yesterday, 3 June 2014, in Vienna. The Ceremony took place on the occasion of the Annual Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CEI Member States, before the Austrian Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, Sebastian Kurz, and all the invited guests.

Annual Meeting of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of CEI Member States held in Vienna

Eleven Ministers for Foreign Affairs (Austria, Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia), six Deputy Ministers (Belarus, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Ukraine), as well as the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the OSCE attended the annual meeting of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of CEI Member States, held in Vienna on 3 June 2014.

Annual Meeting of CEI Ministers for Foreign Affairs, Vienna (3 June 2014)

The Austrian CEI Presidency is organising this year’s Meeting of the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the CEI Member States on 3 June in Vienna, back to back with a Western Balkans Conference in the 1914-2014 context commemorating the anniversary of the outbreak of World War I. The Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of Austria, Sebastian Kurz, will open the gathering entitled “New Challenges for the CEI”.

Ministers for Foreign Affairs Praise CEI's Key Role in Promoting Regional Cooperation

This year’s CEI Meeting of the Ministers for Foreign Affairs entitled “The Mission of the CEI on the Eve of its 25th Anniversary”, was held under the Hungarian Presidency on 31 October in Gödöllő (Hungary). Chaired by Mr. János Martonyi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Hungary, it was attended by his colleagues from nine countries, i.e. Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.

CEI Ministers of Foreign Affairs Confirm Key Role of CEI in Promoting Regional Cooperation for European Integration

The Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CEI Member States (Trieste, 13 June 2012), was dedicated to the topic “Regional Cooperation for European Integration and Bridge between Macro-regions”. The Ministerial meeting was chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Kostyantyn Gryschenko and offered the opportunity to assess recent developments in the region. All participants underlined the crucial role of the CEI as political forum in support of the European integration process and economic reforms of the countries of South-Eastern and Eastern Europe.
