DSG Zsuzsanna Kiraly at High-level Cyber Resilience Regional Forum in Bucharest

On 23 April 2026, Deputy Secretary General Zsuzsanna Kiraly participated in the High-level Cyber Resilience Regional Forum, held in Bucharest under the aegis of the Digital for Development (D4D) Hub and the CEI Romanian Presidency 2026.

The Forum was organised by the National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre of Romania (NCC-RO), in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, the Agency for International Development Cooperation (RoAid) and the Authority for the Digitalization of Romania. It brought together high-level representatives from government, European institutions, the private sector and the cybersecurity community to advance regional cooperation on cyber resilience and accelerate European integration in the cybersecurity domain.

DSG Kiraly participated in a roundtable dedicated to the "D4D Cyber Resilience Facility Proposal", which aimed to shape the regional dialogue and advance concrete policy recommendations for the Bucharest Roadmap on Regional Cyber Resilience.

Speaking on the importance of cybersecurity, DSG Zsuzsanna Kiraly emphasised that:

"Cybersecurity is the new frontier of regional solidarity. It is the fundamental prerequisite for everything we have worked for over the last three decades. The CEI remains committed to being the bridge that brings us together. We may not provide the technical code, but we provide the political will. We provide the platform where the EU member states and those on the path to integration can sit at the same table and realise that their security concerns are identical."

The Forum also placed a specific focus on the EU Technology Offer - the mechanism through which European companies and institutions can contribute to building cybersecurity capacity in partner countries through technology transfer, joint projects and EU financing instruments.

The event reflected the growing importance of cyber resilience as a strategic priority for the CEI region, in line with Romania's 2026 CEI Presidency agenda.
