On 10 February 2026, the Consuls of CEI Member States based in Trieste - representing the Czech Republic, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia - gathered at the Headquarters to exchange views on the Organisation’s ongoing activities, regional cooperation priorities and preparations for the upcoming 30th anniversary of the CEI - Executive Secretariat.
The meeting was hosted by Secretary General Franco Dal Mas, together with Deputy Secretaries General Zsuzsanna Király, Ivana Pejović and Yurii Mushka.
A central part of the discussion was devoted to the Conference marking the 30th anniversary, taking place in Trieste on 17 March 2026. The Conference is promoted by Antonio Tajani, Vice-President and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy as well as by Oana Țoiu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, country holding this year’s CEI Presidency. The Foreign Ministers of other CEI Member States are also expected to participate.
In this context, the Romanian Consul in Trieste, Adina Lovin confirmed Min Țoiu's participation, underlining Romania’s strong commitment to the CEI and to the anniversary celebrations.
The 30th anniversary of the Executive Secretariat marks a key milestone in the history of the CEI and bears witness to Trieste’s role as a city of dialogue and international recognition, said CEI Secretary General Franco Dal Mas. Over the past thirty years, thanks to the presence of the CEI, Trieste has established itself as a point of reference for multilateral diplomacy and regional cooperation in Central Europe.
The meeting offered a valuable opportunity for dialogue and exchange of views, contributing to stronger institutional coordination and reaffirming the CEI’s role as a key platform for regional cooperation and multilateral dialogue.
