On 15 March, a delegation from the CEI-Executive Secretariat headed by Secretary General Roberto Antonione met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani in Skopje. 

We at the Executive Secretariat of the Central European Initiative (CEI) take note with great regret of the fact that the recent developments have severely hampered the CEI's mission, undermining its strategic goals and principle objectives, and diminishing the results achieved in more than 30 years since its establishment.
The conference aimed at implementing the “Roadmap for Health in the Western Balkans (2021-2025)”, one of the priorities identified by the "European Work Programme, 2020-2025 - United Action for Better Health", of the WHO Europe Office; and at facilitating knowledge exchange for developing the potential of the social and health care systems.

The CEI - Executive Secretariat and the Adriatic and Ionian Initiative (AII) Permanent Secretariat signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the framework of the meeting of the Adriatic and Ionian Council.

The theme of this year's South East Europe Media Forum (SEEMF) held in Skopje on 16-17 October 2014 - Media in South East Europe: Not enough or too much information? - offered the opportunity for comprehensive and active discussions covering key topics such as the right to information access, journalism data, privacy and the protection of sources, self-regulation and quality-reporting standards. A session was also devoted to opinion making in times of conflict and lessons of the media war in Ukraine.

The Austrian CEI Presidency is organising this year’s Meeting of the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of the CEI Member States on 3 June in Vienna, back to back with a Western Balkans Conference in the 1914-2014 context commemorating the anniversary of the outbreak of World War I. The Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of Austria, Sebastian Kurz, will open the gathering entitled “New Challenges for the CEI”.
 
The Presidency of the Central European Initiative (CEI) is gravely concerned by the violation of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity by Russian armed forces and calls on Russia for an immediate withdrawal.

The Presidency of the CEI underlines the importance of the respect of the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine including Crimea.
