Lászlo Kövér, Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly, opened the meeting of the CEI Parliamentary Dimension (PD), held in Budapest on 24 April 2013. The meeting was chaired by Richárd Hörcsik, President of the CEI PD and head of the Hungarian Delegation to the CEI PD.
The 6th Conference on Creativity and Innovation took place in Pula (Croatia) on 19-20 April 2013, organised by the Croatian Network for Development and Creativity (MRAK), with the intention to assign the annual awards for creativity and innovation.

The Adriatic Sea Forum is taking place in Trieste on 21-22 March 2013. It is the first major international event dedicated to maritime tourism on the Adriatic, gathering representatives from 7 countries, 25 regions and more than 150 destinations involved in the tourism development and tourism industry. The CEI, as a supporting organisation of the Forum, has promoted the meeting with central and regional authorities, in particular in the Eastern Adriatic area.
at the Department of Mathematics and Geosciences (DMG) at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP/ESP section) - have developed over the last decade a comprehensive and unique study about macroseismic data of the Vrancea region in Romania. The strongest earthquakes occurring in the region since 1940 have been examined and mapped.
On the occasion of the Meeting of the European Association of Public Service Media in Southeast Europe (EAPSM), held on 8 March in Ljubljana, at the premises of RTV Slovenia, the CEI had the opportunity to present a documentary film of three episodes entitled “How do I see my neighbour?”. The documentary was produced by young directors from nine national broadcasters from the region with the aim to stimulate understanding and dialogue, reconciliation and good neighbourly relations.
Among 93 submitted proposals, three new projects were approved on 4 March 2013 under the KEP AUSTRIA Call for Proposals 2013 (closing date: 28 December 2012).
The Hungarian Minister of State for Infrastructure Mr. Pál Völner received in Budapest the Acting Secretary General of Central European Initiative Mr. Giorgio Rosso Cicogna 20 February 2013 for an in depth consultation on the activities to be promoted by the Hungarian CEI Presidency in the field of transport. Most specifically the implementation of the European Strategy on the Corridors was reviewed.
Organised by the Hungarian Presidency 2013 of the Central-European Initiative, a conference is taking place in Budapest (21-22 February 2013) in order to discuss the role of the Approval Authorities in the implementation of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC). Special focus is put on the new proposals by the EU Commission aiming at improving this important instrument of regional cooperation in Europe.
