GreenPATH is a project aimed at providing sustainable commuting solutions to students and employees in functional urban areas (FUAs) in Central Europe. Co-financed by the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme, it aims to develop smart and green mobility solutions through pilots, strategies, and action plans involving 11 public administrations, mobility agencies and operators, universities, research bodies, and 13 associated partners.
The main role of the Central European Initiative – Executive Secretariat (CEI-ES) within the project is to coordinate communication activities, focusing on internal communication, external communication, and dissemination. CEI-ES will also support technical activities in FUAs by performing a Home-To-Work analysis in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, coordinating promotional campaigns, and conducting a best practice study of innovative urban space design solutions. Additionally, CEI-ES will summarize key outcomes to support the transferability of GreenPATH initiatives.
Key outputs include the development of a common strategy for integrated governance of commuter flows, three collaborative solutions for sustainable mobility tested in three pilots across FUAs, the GreenPATH Strategy, and seven action plans for each FUA. These outputs are expected to be endorsed by decision-makers, ensuring the take-up and further implementation of the solutions.
