RAD 2018 was organised by the RAD Association in cooperation with the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, University of Niš on 18-22 June. The sixth edition gathered 292 participants from 39 countries, 169 of which were from CEI countries.
The International Expert Conference on Combined Cargo Transport took place in Zagreb on 29 May 2018. The event was organised by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure on the occasion of this year’s Croatian CEI Presidency.
In the framework of the Friuli Venezia Giulia International Piano Competition, the CEI co-sponsored the organisation of the CEI Piano Forum 2018, an international conference held in Sacile, Italy, on 7 May, gathering young musicians and experts from all the CEI countries.
More than 125 representatives from the business community as well as lawyers and arbitrators attended the conference "Strengthening the cooperation between business partners by enhancing arbitral resolution of disputes - Modern times for Arbitration: Initiatives and perspectives" held in Skopje, Macedonia, on 19-20 April.
Considering that over the last years, many arbitral institutions have revised their arbitration rules with a focus on speed and time-efficiency, the discussion paid attention to the efficiency of arbitration proceedings.
The regional conference on "Cultural and Historical Potential in Tourism" took place at the Cultural Center Parobrod in Belgrade, Serbia, on 31 March.
During the event, the following topics were discussed: modern tourism experiences, important quantitative and qualitative changes manifested in the dynamic growth of tourism, the globalisation of the tourism market, the creation of new and more flexible forms of production and consumption of services, economic liberalisation and fostering fiscal measures.
The XIII Central European Forum of Aquileia EuroRegion took place in Udine on 5 October 2017. Organised by the Mitteleuropa Cultural Association, in cooperation with a consortium of public and private stakeholders, the Forum gathered representatives of public institutions, diplomats, politicians and academics from the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkan area.
Organised by the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, in partnership with the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the University of Travnik, the 10th International Symposium New Technologies in Sport "Entrepreneurship and Business in Sport" was successfully held in Sarajevo on 13-14 October.
The Film New Europe CEI AV Innovation Day at the International Co-production Forum Regiofund in Katowice, Poland on 5-6 October was made up of panels, case studies and industry networking to explore how innovation and technologies are impacting the audiovisual industry in the region and Europe.
Lectures, round tables and workshops were offered to the students with a strong interdisciplinary approach towards topics such as migration, minority protection, cultural diversity and territorial cooperation.
The 14th edition of the DRC Summer School was held at the University of Pécs, Hungary on 2-9 July under the main topic “New Borders Between Old Neighbours – Return of History in The Danube Region?”. The keynote lecture was subsequently delivered by Erhard Busek, chairman of IDM.
The variety of lectures and the interdisciplinary approach of the summer school was also reflected in the workshops, where the participants had the opportunity to present their research:
The conference, held in Chisinau on 25-27 May, witnessed the participation of around 60 women entrepreneurs in the crafts field from Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine and Moldova. Discussions focused on problems faced by women entrepreneurs, solutions and success stories. The gathering aimed at transferring knowledge and exchanging experiences and good practices on migration management in order to contribute to opening new job opportunities.
The Forum was organised in Venice on 12 May at the premises of the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe by the Trieste Contemporanea Committee.
