On30 - 31 May, experts, scientists, and conservationists from the Danube River Network of Protected Areas (DANUBEPARKS) gathered in Văleni (Moldova), to attend the CEI Conference "DANUBEPARKS Newt Conservation Partnership & Climate Change", addressing the challenges posed by climate change and promoting biodiversity conservation.
On 19 May, the Montenegrin Pan-European Union organised the international conference “Improving climate resilience: connecting the European Green Deal and the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans through the UN Sustainable Development Goals and their indicators” in Podgorica.
On 9-10 May, NAMIRS (North Adriatic Maritime Incident Response System) partners from the Croatian Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, the Italian Coast Guard and the Slovene Civil Protection Administration attended - as observers - the annual RAMOGEPOL exercise in Toulon (France).
At the press conference for the launch of the Barcolana Sea Summit, taking place in Trieste at the beginning of October, the NAMIRS project was presented as one of the major joint initiatives for the protection and safeguarding of the sea as a common resource.
The CEI-funded conference organised by Makgeopark (NGO Stenae) and the Municipality of Demir Kapija, North Macedonia on 6 - 8 May, witnessed the participation of representatives from existing UNESCO geoparks from CEI Member States as well as experts in field of geodiversity and environmental sciences.
