CEI and Transport Community (TCT) Panel in Niš highlights integrated solutions for sustainable transport in the Western Balkans

The CEI–TCT Panel on “Integrated solutions for sustainable passenger and freight transport,” held on 4 December 2025 in Niš, brought together a wide spectrum of policymakers, regional organisations, international financial institutions and transport industry representatives for a full day of exchanges on the future of mobility in the Western Balkans.

Fostering sustainable freight deliveries in Functional Urban Areas: insights from GRETA Project

The GRETA project (Greening Regional Freight Transport in Functional Urban Areas) successfully brought together experts from the logistics sector and from public authorities to discuss alternatives in the last-mile freight deliveries in urban areas at the event “Decarbonizing last mile deliveries in FUAS” hosted at the Green Logistics Expo in Padua on 9 October -  one of Italy’s most valuable forums for discussing sustainable logistics.

CEI-funded study looks at impact on use of public transport due to COVID-19 pandemic in Western Balkans

The research found that changes in mobility behaviour patterns have negatively affected the business operations of public transport operators in all of the analysed cities and will almost certainly continue to negatively affect them.
