Within the International Congress “500 years of Belarusian book-printing”, the International Round Table “Documentary Heritage in Central European Region: Conservation, Research and Promotion” was held in Minsk on 14-16 September at the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Nesvizh".
The event aimed at creating synergies between scientists and librarians and at elaborating similar approaches with regard to conservation, research and promotion of book heritage as a constituent part of activities for strengthening cross-cultural relationships, preserving cultural diversity and stimulating professional contacts between and among academic, museum and librarian communities of CEI Member States.
Joint efforts are necessary in order to make accessible to the public conservation, research, manuscripts and printed books related to the most valuable cultural heritage of neighbouring nations in the Central European region.
Beforehand the task mentioned used to be implemented at a bilateral level. However, the benchmarking of national efforts and defining themes for subsequent regional cooperation on the matter is evident.
This event was co-funded by the CEI Cooperation Fund.
