Albanian Presidency
On 6 December 2024 the UN General Assembly, recalling its resolution 66/111 of 9 December 2011 by which it granted observer status to the CEI, adopted the Resolution on Cooperation between the United Nations and the Central European Initiative by a recorded vote of 114 in favour, 10 against with 26 abstentions.
On 20 November, 2024, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CEI Member States convened in Tirana for their Annual Meeting. The gathering was held back to back with the last Committee of National Coordinators Meeting for 2024 under the Albanian Presidency.
On 14 November in Vlora, the Albanian CEI Presidency, in cooperation with the CEI-Executive Secretariat and the Transport Community Secretariat, organised the Expert Panel “Enhancing cross-border connectivity in the CEI region exploiting sustainable transport solutions”.
On 31 October 2024, the CEI-Executive Secretariat participated in the International Workshop Internationalization in Higher Education: Challenges and Opportunities, organised in Tirana. The workshop aimed to explore the strategies for future collaboration in Higher Education.
In the framework of the Albanian CEI Presidency, the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation in Albania, in cooperation with the Executive Secretariat of the CEI, organised in Tirana, on 23 October 2024, the International Workshop: "Digitization, Access, and Protection in the Cultural Heritage Sector".
The National Coordinators (CNC) of the CEI Member States convened in Trieste on 8 October 2024 for their 3rd meeting under the Albanian Presidency focused on institutional activities, project updates, and administrative matters critical to the CEI’s operations.
International Conference “Tourism in the Eastern and Southeastern Europe – New paths of development”
The Committee of National Coordinators (CNC) of the CEI Member States convened in Trieste on 4 June 2024 for their second meeting under the Albanian Presidency. The agenda included discussions on CEI key institutional activities, administrative matters and project management.
The 1st Committee of National Coordinators Meeting under the Albanian CEI Presidency 2024 at the CEI headquarters in Trieste on 29 February, unveiled a comprehensive agenda of the Presidency aimed at advancing regional cooperation and sustainable development across various sectors.
