International workshop on higher education internationalisation in Tirana. Exploring future collaboration and cultural diversity

On 31 October 2024, the CEI-Executive Secretariat participated in the International Workshop Internationalization in Higher Education: Challenges and Opportunities, organised in Tirana. The workshop aimed to explore the strategies for future collaboration in Higher Education. The representatives from the CEI Member States’ universities reflected on the economic and political impact of internationalisation as well as on its role in fostering cultural diversity and inclusion.

Deputy Secretary General, Zsuzsanna Kiraly, in her welcome speech, highlighted the importance of institutional cooperation in the CEI framework:

She underlined that "the CEI holds observer status at the intergovernmental committees of the Council of Europe’s Youth Department (CDEJ and CMJ) and maintains a partnership with UNICEF". She reaffirmed that one of the CEI’s primary goals was to contribute to improving the quality of life and prospects of young people, by improving their education.

The event was hosted by the Albanian presidency, represented by Prof. Ana Kapaj - Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education and Sports.
