GRETA Project Partners meet in Budapest to track progress and plan ahead to improve urban logistics

On April 8-9 2025, partners of the Project GRETA  - Greening Regional Freight Transport in Functional Urban Areas met in Budapest to discuss the progress of the project, focusing on pilot activities carried out in Budapest (Hungary), Poznan, (Poland), Reggio Emilia and Verona (Italy), Maribor (Slovenia). The solutions mentioned are designed to mitigate emissions, congestion and noise caused by deliveries in the cities, focusing on last-mile freight delivery. Some of these pilot activities have already started, whereas others are about to start. All the achieved results will be the basis for defining shared approaches and plans to be further transfered and/or replicated in other cities in the Central European area.

Partners discussed steps concerning the promotion and training linked to these pilot initiatives, to gain further inputs from other external actors and mainstream the tested solutions in similar contexts.

In terms of future events, partners agreed on the workshop dedicated to Unlocking innovation in urban logistics: the role of stakeholders’ governance planned on 7 May 2027 and further meetings of the GRETA Permanent Working Group with external projects.

More detailed information can be found on the GRETA website.

The CEI-ES is strongly involved in GRETA promotion and communication activities, as well as in identifying synergies and best practices promoting the setting-up of innovative freight transport solutions.
