CEI-led CONNECT2CE and COME-IN! included among “Flagship Projects” by Italian Agency for Territorial Cohesion

The design and implementation of EU-funded projects is a powerful tool for the attainment of the CEI’s goals and objectives.

So far, the CEI-Executive Secretariat (CEI-ES) has contributed to 46 EU projects, acting both as Lead Partner and Partner, in fields such as transport, energy, bio & blue circular economy, research & innovation, culture, environmental protection, and health. Among these, two projects led by CEI-ES have recently been included in the initiative “Progetti Faro” (Flagship Projects), promoted by the Italian Agency for Territorial Cohesion, which highlights the most successful projects financed by the European Territorial Cooperation (ETC) objective, as well as by the ENI and IPA II instruments, during EU MFF 2014-2020.

CONNECT2CE aimed at improving public transport connections between sparsely populated and urban areas. It  achieved significant results such as the experimental extension to Trieste of the cross border train connection Villach-Udine (Mi.Co.Tra) or the integrated ticket bus/train along the route Trieste - Ljubljana.

COME-IN! focused on promoting a new cultural offer based on the “design for all” principle. It has contributed to making museums accessible to a wider public, including people with disabilities.

These achievements were made possible thanks to the excellent cooperation established within the respective transnational consortia. We intend to build upon these results, thus strengthen our participation in EU programmes, with the ultimate goal to bring tangible benefits to the citizens of our Member States.
