DSG Kiraly presents CEI youth programme at Barcolana Sea Summit session on energy, climate and sustainable development

In an impactful session on "Energy & Climat 2023: Electrify Everything!" in the framework of the Barcolana Sea Summit on 4 October, Deputy Secretary General (DSG) Zsuzsanna Kiraly introduced the CEI's innovative initiative, the "Imagine" Call for Ideas Award Comptition, a CEI Youth Agenda activity (*).  This endeavor is specifically designed to engage and enlighten high school students within CEI and Adriatic-Ionian Initiative areas about the United Nations 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

During the session, DSG Kiraly emphasised the importance of fostering young minds' understanding and involvement in shaping a sustainable future aligned with the UN's global goals. The Competition encourages students to envision innovative solutions and projects that contribute to sustainable development - an example of the CEI's commitment to empowering the next generation.

By launching this programme, the CEI aims to catalyse a wave of creativity and dedication among youth, amplifying awareness and action towards achieving the SDGs and fostering a sustainable world.

Stay tuned as the 4th edition of the "Imagine" Call for Ideas Award Competition unfolds, inspiring young changemakers across the CEI and Adriatic-Ionian regions to make a meaningful impact on the global stage.

(*)The CEI Youth Agenda is included in the "Trieste Declaration," ratified by the CEI Ministers of Foreign Affairs on 12 June, 2019. This document highlighted, in particular, the pivotal role of young citizens in shaping the future of societies and directed the CEI-Executive Secretariat to collaborate with CEI Member States in formulating a "CEI’s Agenda for Youth."
