During the session, DSG Kiraly emphasised the importance of fostering young minds' understanding and involvement in shaping a sustainable future aligned with the UN's global goals. The Competition encourages students to envision innovative solutions and projects that contribute to sustainable development - an example of the CEI's commitment to empowering the next generation.
The "Aurel Vlaicu" Theoretical High School in Romania, 2nd place winner of the 2022 edition of Call for Ideas and Award Competition “ IMAGINE!” Active Young Citizens for Sustainable Development in CEI and AII Areas for their project “Become the best version of yourself, be non-formal!” has used its award of €20.000 to visit the United Nations headquarters in Geneva in April this year.
The Public Institution Technical School Center Zvornik, Bosnia and Herzegovina - 3rd place winner of the 2022 edition of Call for Ideas and Award Competition “ IMAGINE!” Active Young Citizens for Sustainable Development in CEI and AII Areas for their project idea on “Educating young people of damage of environmental pollution and ways to improve it, their impact on climate changes, an exhibition of sculptures made of recycled material, has used its award of €20.000 to install a new eco-sustainable lighting system in the school.
The CEI-Executive Secretariat (CEI-ES) is proud to announce the winners of the 2022 edition of the Call for Ideas and Award Competition “IMAGINE” Active Young Citizens for Sustainable Development in Central European Initiative (CEI) and Adriatic Ionian Initiative (AII) Areas (deadline: 28 February 2023).
Thanks to the 1st place winning project "Active young citizens for sustainable development in Bulgaria", on 11-17 March, the CEI beneficiaries had the chance to visit the United Nations headquarters in New York, where they got to know the work of the global forum in depth, visited the halls where the General Assembly and the United Nations Security Council meet, and met H.E. Lachezara Stoeva, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bulgaria to the United Nations and President of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
