The CEI has recently participated (18 June 2025) in the conference Enhancing Road and Rail Connectivity in the Adriatic-Ionian Region in Portoroz, Slovenia organised by the Forum of the Adriatic and Ionian Chambers of Commerce.
Presentations and discussions were held on the road transport system, smart logistics solutions, multimodal integration, and sustainable clustering models. The participants also sought solutions to accelerate rail development and opportunities for improved cross-border coordination.
DSG Zsuzsanna Kiraly emphasised the CEI's commitment to promoting a more interconnected region.
„The CEI has consistently initiated numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity and regional integration among its Member States. Our objective has invariably been to understand existing bottlenecks, to identify measures and steps to solve them as to strengthen transport links, thereby facilitating increased cross-border connections. Infrastructure extends beyond mere roads and rails; it represents a strategic asset indispensable for society’s vitality, for sustainable growth, for job creation, and for enhancing overall competitiveness”, she added.
Participants were representatives of the chambers of commerce, transport associations and regional organisations.
