CEI Piano Forum: career opportunities for young musicians

Best practice exchange and a special award for the best competitor among the young pianists from CEI Member States marked the programme of the CEI Piano Forum on 10 May 2016. For the second time, the convention aimed at supporting future musical careers took place in the framework of the International Piano Competition in Sacile, Italy, promoted with the support of the CEI Cooperation Fund.

Young musicians from all over the world had the chance to demonstrate their talents within the International Piano Competition. Young Ukrainian Mariia Iudenko claimed the special award for best competitor from a CEI country, which was sponsored by the Central European Initiative. The pianist defeated participants from other CEI countries such as Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Poland and Slovakia. On the occasion of her victory, she gave a special concert in Palazzo Ragazzoni on 13 May 2016.

Besides the competition, a panel of experts and famous musicians shared their experience and insights with a generation of young pianists. Discussions focused on specific issues related to the world of music contests, the selection of locations and academies, as well as the most suitable trainings, not only from a technical point of view or virtuoso, but also in terms of cultural growth and personal promotion.
