From 1 to 5 September 2025, the 10th Central-European Symposium on Plasma Chemistry (CESPC 2025) took place in Bucharest, Romania. The event brought together scientists, researchers and early-career experts, with the scope of enhancing both scientific collaboration and regional cooperation in the field of plasma chemistry. It emphasised applications pertinent to environmental protection, sustainable energy, health and advanced materials, while also aiming to strengthen research capacities across Central and Eastern Europe.
The event, organised by the National Institute for Laser, Plasma and Radiation Physics (INFLPR), comprised invited lectures, oral presentations and poster sessions, which covered fundamental plasma science and applied research. Discussions centred on innovative solutions for environmental remediation, energy conversion, agriculture and medical technologies. Particular emphasis was placed on plasma-based technologies that address environmental challenges, including water treatment, pollution control and sustainable energy solutions. Dedicated sessions and awards encouraged the active participation of young researchers, supporting innovation and the next generation of scientific cooperation.
“Enhancing environmental protection, risk reduction and resilience in the CEI region is increasingly vital in the face of climate change and growing environmental pressures. Reducing pollution, limiting resource overexploitation and supporting effective mitigation and adaptation measures are essential for long-term prosperity. In this context, the CEI promotes the responsible use of environmental resources, cultural change and resilience, supporting initiatives that contribute to sustainable development for future generations.”
By fostering scientific excellence and cross-border collaboration, CESPC 2025 contributed to strengthening regional research networks and advancing environmentally oriented innovation across the CEI region.
