On 11-12 September, the Croatian Chamber of Economy – Zadar County Chamber organised a transnational Cross-Field Visit within the framework of the BLUE_BOOST project in the Zadar County, Croatia. The event gathered project partners and Blue economy experts from Italy, Greece and Albania, with the aim of acquainting participants with selected Blue Growth sectors of the Zadar County - aquaculture, fisheries and tourism.
On Day 1, the delegation visited Kali Tuna farm, where participants had the chance to learn about the company’s work and the regulations related to tuna fishery. On the same day, the participants visited the Telašćica Nature Park, where they were introduced to the history and operation of the park. During the visit, the Zadar County's Institution for the Development of Competence, Innovation and Specialisation - INOVACIJA presented its activities, especially regarding the EU projects in which it participates.
On Day 2, the delegation visited Solana Nin and the Salt Museum as an example of good practice in using traditional salt collection for purposes of tourism. Afterwards, a Croatian aquaculture leader specialising in the cultivation and processing of white fish with specific emphasis on sea bass, sea bream and shellfish - Cromaris hosted the project’s delegation at a fish sorting and processing facility. Participants had the opportunity to see a new skin packaging that will soon be available on the market. The Cross-Field Visit in Zadar concluded with a virtual reality tour focusing on the history of the city, enabled by the Magic Croatia tourist agency.
