In the framework of its activities fostering Bioeconomy and, in particular, those promoting the potential of sustainable Bioenergy in Central, East, and South Eastern Europe, the CEI has strengthened its cooperation with ETA-Florence in relation to the organisation of the 25th Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EUBECE) taking place in Stockholm in June 2017.
It is a leading event attracting experts from over 65 countries, to exchange views on research, industrial development, markets and policies in biomass and bioenergy.
EUBCE has been taking place at different venues in Europe since 1980. The event uniquely combines scientific, technological, industrial and application-related issues from the perspective of research and development, industry and policy. With more than 800 keynote, plenary, oral and visual presentations, as well as several parallel workshops, expert panels and specific industry fora, the EUBCE counts as the most outstanding Biomass science-to-science and science-to-industry platform.
With more than 20 years of experience, ETA-Florence is a European leader in knowledge management and transfer in the field of renewable energies. The company has an interdisciplinary international team covering scientific research, communication, event organisation and industry. ETA-Florence has been the organiser of of EUBECE since the year 2000.
The signing of the agreement between the two parties, consolidates an informal collaboration that has been going on for several years already. It officialises the CEI’s support to the event, which is also supported by the UNESCO Natural Science Sector, the Global Bioeconomy Partnership (GBEP), the European Biomass Industry Association (EUBIA) and the World Council of Renewable Energy (WCRE).
In its capacity as Institutional Supporter, the CEI will act as a mediator with bioenergy stakeholders from its Member States, often underrepresented in previous editions of the Conference. While providing an outlook of Central, East, and South Eastern European Countries in relation to the development of Bioeconomy and Bioenergy, the CEI will try to emphasise the potentials of its Member States in terms of human capital, excellent research and, untapped bioenergy.
The EUBCE conference programme is coordinated by the European Commission - Joint Research Centre.
