From 27 September to 3 October 2025, Plavo Theatre hosted the CEI-supported segment of Two Open Weeks of Plavo Theatre 2025 in Belgrade (Serbia), as part of the broader anniversary programme 30 Years of Plavo Theatre. The initiative gathered 28 participants from 14 CEI countries, including actors and performers, theatre directors and dramaturgs, theatre musicians, cultural organisers and a contemporary circus artist, fostering artistic skills, peer learning and intercultural dialogue.
This year's programme featured two established workshops that reflect the company’s laboratory methodology: Complete Actor's Training (led by Maša Jelić) and The World of Physical Actions: The Actor's Creative Path (led by Dejan Stojković and Marko Potkonjak). Participants also engaged with Plavo Theatre’s long-standing work on inclusion and gender equality through the performance Deaf Dorian Gray – Inclusive Potential of Utopia, inspired by Oscar Wilde and designed to bring together deaf and hearing audiences. Other highlights included a concert-performance entitled 'Before the Law', drawing on the works of Franz Kafka and Rosa Balistreri; an opening lecture and discussion with Artistic Director Nenad Čolić; and screenings of historical anthropological theatre productions, including 'The Constant Prince' (Teatr Laboratorium, Jerzy Grotowski) and 'Kaosmos' (Odin Teatret, Eugenio Barba).
Participation was broad-based and inclusive, with targeted support for two emerging Ukrainian artists from GAS Theatre, who are currently residing in Poland and joined the programme free of charge.
Building on the CEI's long-standing collaboration, this activity is in line with the CEI's priorities in the field of cultural cooperation and contributes to the empowerment of youth, women, and vulnerable groups - a priority for the CEI as well.
By combining laboratory training, inclusive performances, and curated reflections on seminal works, the programme promoted community engagement and artistic exchange throughout the region.
