Priorities of Montenegrin Presidency: pandemic recovery, strengthened connectivity, scientific cooperation and environmental protection 

Opened by Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović, the 1st online Committee of National Coordinators Meeting (CNC) under the Montenegrin CEI Presidency 2021 (24 February) presented the priorities and programme of events envisaged for this year.   

While underlining there would be continued support for the activities linked to fulfilling the CEI’s mission in promoting European integration and fostering sustainable development, the presidency informed that attention would also be paid to strengthening good-neighbourly relations and to encouraging constructive exchange of views and ideas.  

The high-level events such as the Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, the Meeting of the Heads of Government and the CNC meetings will be complemented with activities fostering the recovery from the pandemic (health, economic and social), a strengthened connectivity, scientific cooperation as well as environmental protection; intensified cooperation among the other dimensions of the initiative, i.e. parliamentary, economic and local is also envisaged. 

The CEI - Executive Secretariat, among other things, briefed participants on current and upcoming steps regarding the development of these dimensions, on cooperation with international institutions and about initiatives taking place in the framework of the CEI Youth Agenda.
