The XIX South East Europe Media Forum (SEEMF), taking place under the title “The enemies of media and how to tackle them'”, is one of the leading media events in Central and Eastern Europe. It fosters exchange and networking among journalists, editors, media CEOs, academics, policymakers, and representatives of international organisations.
The Forum is organised by the South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO), in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation's Media Programme for South East Europe and the CEI, with support from several international and regional partners, including the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). It will address key challenges to media freedom, including political pressure, hybrid threats, propaganda and the role of investigative journalism. The agenda also features a panel on promoting European values in the media as a means of strengthening democracy.
At the Forum, this year’s CEI SEEMO Award for Outstanding Merits in Investigative Journalism will be presented, honoring excellence and commitment in investigative reporting.
