The CEI-supported Trieste Film Festival - the leading Italian festival dedicated to Central and Eastern European cinema and beyond - will take place in Trieste on 16 - 24 January 2026. The programme includes over 120 events, ranging from films, documentaries and shorts to masterclasses and meetings with renowned masters and emerging talents - both directors and actors - whose stories build bridges between East and West.
Among the focuses featured in the festival programme, “Wild Roses” - the section dedicated to European women directors - this year celebrates the female voices of Slovenian cinema.
Traditionally, a special CEI Award will be offered for the film that best represents the contemporary world and dialogue among cultures.
On 19-20 January, the study days “Reframing European Film Festivals: Transitional Histories, Cultures and Identities” will take place at the CEI Headquarters.
