On 22 September, the South-Eastern Europe Health Network (SEEHN) opened the workshop Amplify the RHDCs' Voice: Strengthening Advocacy and Awareness Capacities for Public Health Impact in SEEHN Member States in Struga, Republic of North Macedonia, running until 24 September.
Deputy Secretary General Ivana Pejović represented the CEI-Executive Secretariat at the opening session, alongside Tatiana Paduraru, Director of the SEEHN Secretariat, and a representative of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of North Macedonia. In her remarks, DSG Pejović reaffirmed the CEI's continued support to the SEEHN network and its Regional Health Development Centres (RHDCs), stressing the importance of turning technical health expertise into effective public health advocacy and dialogue — the central theme of the workshop, Public Health Advocacy for RHDCs: From Technical Expertise to Policy Influence.
Over three days, representatives of the RHDCs from across SEEHN Member States are taking part in interactive sessions covering the policy and stakeholder environment, advocacy issue framing, stakeholder mapping, message development, strategy design, and monitoring and evaluation, with the aim of strengthening their capacity to advocate for stronger health systems across the region.
By supporting this activity, the CEI reaffirms its partnership with SEEHN and its commitment to better health and well-being, strengthening advocacy on priority issues such as non-communicable diseases, mental health, immunization and ageing, and improving the interface between expert bodies and policymakers as part of its good governance agenda.
