The online workshop on harmonisation of procedures in the field of vehicle registration between Italy and Slovenia taking place in the framework of the FORTIS project, under Interreg Crossborder Italy-Slovenia Programme 2014-2020 - is taking place on 17 and 18 June in two morning sessions.
Day One will focus on the “Emergency management of heavy vehicles – future scenarios for cross-border cooperation”.
The sudden insurgence of the health crisis has had a critical impact on heavy vehicles. The block of heavy vehicle transport at national borders caused many problems: the impossibility to ensure transport service, vehicle management blocked at the borders, etc. This crisis shows that there is a lack of information among public administrations and the need to find and plan common solutions at cross-border level to ensure homogeneous transport management during any crisis.
Day two will focus on the EU directive 2018/645, and on vehicle registration in Italy and Slovenia.
EU Directive 2018/645 - emending directive 2003/59/CE on initial qualification and periodic drivers' training for certain road vehicles and freight and passenger transport, together with Directive 2006/126/CE on licensing - solve former critical issues and open a set of new scenarios.
The workshop envisages a plenary meeting followed by a Q&A session where participants will present their competences, experiences and responsibilities as well as strategies for cooperation development and improvement. Each workshop day will be concluded with a final plenary session.
Working language: Italian and Slovene with translation.
