The CEI aims to promote scientific progress and technological advancement, emphasising the importance of regional cooperation and science diplomacy to meet these goals. It focuses on cross-border cooperation, supported by multi-level and multi-stakeholder approaches, along the lines of the quintuple helix innovation framework.
CEI activities mainly focus on: establishing science-policy-diplomacy interfaces, promoting R&I workforce development, supporting policy development for open innovation ecosystems, facilitating know-how transfer, exploring science diplomacy and its practical applications.
