TREASURE is co-financed by the Interreg EURO MED Programme. It aims at improving environmental quality in and around Mediterranean port areas, by mitigating and reducing sediment and water pollution.

The Central European Initiative – Executive Secretariat is responsible for communication and dissemination activities, as well as for developing a strategy for encouraging the amplification of its impact, by transferring the TREASURE results to other entities outside the consortium.

The overall challenge that TREASURE wishes to tackle is that of the fragile environmental quality of Mediterranean port areas. To improve it, TREASURE will perform transnational testing of integrated, multi-stakeholder support environments, merging three multi-disciplinary elements: a stakeholder ecosystem to create open pilot laboratories, an integrated approach to environmental quality assessment, and experimentation of novel techniques to restore degraded and polluted port areas.
