On 28-31 May, the 7th International Conference "Supporting young people and women, including Ukrainians, in the digitalization of rural tourism sector, exchange of experiences with other countries, respecting gender equality" was held in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.
The event was organised by the Association of Business and Professional Women of Moldova with the purpose of promoting rural tourism in Moldova and facilitating the exchange experiences with European countries. It was attended by fourteen business representatives and Chamber of Commerce delegates from seven countries – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, and Ukraine – alongside the host country, Moldova.
For many participants, this marked their first visit to the Republic of Moldova. Several expressed keen interest in exploring investment opportunities within the country’s tourism sector and in fostering new collaborative partnerships.
Angela Chicu, president of the Business and Professional Women Association of Moldova and organiser of the event, stated: “In the Republic of Moldova, rural tourism is largely unknown. We’re here to exchange experiences, identify gaps, recognize positive aspects, and share knowledge among countries”.
