Innovative companies from CEI Member States meet on PPE HEALTH PORTAL

Businesses and partners from Albania, Italy, Poland and Ukraine met on 20 October in a webinar focused on the exchange of knowledge and the promotion of innovative products for tackling the current health emergency. The event took place as part of the project PPE HEALTH PORTAL implemented by INFORMEST Consulting S.r.l. and financed by the CEI Fund at the EBRD / Know-how Exchange Progamme, under the COVID-19 Extraordinary Call for Proposals launched in spring.

The project - aimed at encouraging and facilitating technical and business collaborations for the production of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) between EU and non-EU companies - witnessed the participation of Michele Feletig, Director of INFORMEST Consulting (IT); Olena Bey, Director at Business Support Center Newbiznet, a management training and consulting NGO in L’viv (UA), and Arsild Tepelija, project assistant of the Cooperation and Development Institute – CDI of Tirana (AL). They delivered an outlook of the COVID-19 social and economic situation in their respective countries and illustrated the features of the hundreds of SMEs expressing an interest in networking.

Representatives of selected companies introduced their innovative solutions focusing on the needs stemming from the pandemic. The Italian companies on the spot were GHEPI S.r.l. with its ReMASK system for working and social environments, EPPOS S.r.l.  with their Proximity Alert solution and CAMORAK S.r.l. producing hand-sanitation gel from new sustainable sources. From PolandEfa Gryt” of Group G.M. showed its tents for initial diagnostics and decontamination chambers. The Scientific Park of L’viv Polytechnic National University introduced its support framework for innovative businesses such as the Whirl Ukraine LLC, looking for an international distribution of its nasal boosters, disinfectants and other anti-septic products from natural sources (https://mywhirl.com/).

CEI Focal Point for Health and for COVID-19 emergency issues, Gian Matteo Apuzzo, stressed how the results of the PPE HEALTH PORTAL project were consistent with the content of other CEI projects and activities and that, therefore, synergies should also be built to share the high-level technical skills involved in the various initiatives as a common resource of all the actors involved.
