Secretariat joins RCC’s 18th anniversary celebrations in Sarajevo

On 16 February 2026, the CEI - Executive Secretariat - a longstanding partner of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) - took part in the event marking the Organisations’s 18th anniversary in Sarajevo,

The event gathered RCC partners, representatives of its participants, international organisations, and members of the diplomatic community, underlining the sustained relevance of regional cooperation frameworks for the region’s stability and prosperity. It also provided an occasion to reflect on nearly two decades of RCC work in strengthening regional cooperation, stability and dialogue in South East Europe, while reaffirming cooperation as a strategic choice in an evolving regional and global context.

Deputy Secretary General Ivana Pejović, welcomed the opportunity to join RCC partners in this milestone moment and reiterated the CEI’s commitment to working with like-minded regional organisations to strengthen dialogue, connectivity and cooperation across South East Europe and beyond.

Formally launched at the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) meeting in Sofia on 27 February 2008, as the successor to the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, the RCC was created as a mechanism to advance cooperation across the region. Eighteen years on, it has become a long-term hub for economic, security, social and political cooperation, supporting continuity of dialogue and joint action even in challenging political times.
