The soldiers' remains were discovered in the Vrtojba area of Slovenia during construction work and have now been returned to the Italian authorities, according to the Ministry of Defence. Military honours were bestowed upon the caskets containing the remains of the fallen soldiers. A convoy carrying their remains arrived in Cargnacco, where they were temporarily buried in the crypt of the local temple. On September 24, the fallen soldiers will be commemorated at the Redipuglia Military Memorial and then buried at the Oslavia Military Memorial. (ANSA).
