(ANSA) - SOFIA, 19 FEB - Bulgarian President Iliana Yotova signed the decree approving the composition of the interim government presented yesterday by interim Prime Minister Andrey Ghyurov. In another decree, Yotova set the date for early parliamentary elections for April 19, as she had already announced yesterday. The government was subsequently sworn in by parliament and took office, as it is an interim government, appointed by the head of State with a provisional mandate and therefore, according to the Constitution, is not subject to a vote of confidence in parliament. Ghyurov's cabinet, whose primary task is to organize the election, is composed of three deputy prime ministers and 18 ministers. The Ministry of the Interior is headed by Emil Decev, a judge and former official of the Ministry of Justice. Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov held the same post in Rossen Zhelyazkov's government. Foreign Minister Nadezhda Neynski, a former MEP and former head of Sofia's foreign policy between 1997 and 2001, is in charge of the Ministry of Finance. The Ghyurov government brings the total number of interim governments in Bulgaria to 10 over the past 12 years. (ANSA).
