The European Youth Parliament (EYP) held its highly anticipated Presidents’ Summit 2024 in Kraków, Poland, from 19-22 September 2024. This pivotal event, supported by the CEI, brought together 35 youth leaders, including 19 Presidents of EYP National Committees, for an exchange of ideas, knowledge-sharing, and leadership development. The summit aimed to empower young leaders to drive impactful change within their communities and across Europe.
The summit featured key workshops led by facilitators who guided participants through discussions on youth participation, cross-border cooperation, and organisational strategy. These sessions aimed to equip the Presidents with the tools and strategies necessary to overcome challenges unique to their roles and countries.
Deputy Secretary General Zsuzsanna Kiraly, in her opening speech, underlined that since the CEI was in the process of building the CEI Youth Agenda, the Organisation was interested in expanding its engagement and cooperation on relevant youth-related issues of high strategic relevance for its member states, through worthwhile activities and networking with relevant stakeholders such as the European Youth Parliament. Youth associations such as EYP might be among the CEI’s key partners in pursuing its mission and priorities in the youth sector.
The Presidents’ Summit served as a platform for strengthening leadership networks, promoting cross-border collaboration, and fostering new initiatives aimed at inspiring a new generation of informed and active European citizens.
The European Youth Parliament is one of Europe’s largest youth platforms for civic education, intercultural encounters, and the exchange of ideas – run by young people, for young people. The mission of the EYP is to inspire and empower a young generation of informed, open-minded, responsible, and active citizens who shape society and drive impact.
