SOSPHERE – a new project for improving access to services in lagging areas lead by the CEI-ES

SOSPHERE (Solutions for Optimal Service Provision and Health Equity in Remote Environments) is a newly approved project co-financed by the Interreg Central Europe Programme and led by the Central European Initiative.

The project will officially start in January 2026 with the aim of helping local and regional public authorities in improving access to services of general interest in lagging and peripheral areas of Central Europe, facing demographic challenges, limited resources and access gaps. The mentioned areas face the challenge of underused existing health and social services due to lack of skills, insufficient information or lack of trust in using digital tools. To change this, the CEI – Executive Secretariat together with partners from Labin, Beltinci and Treviso (Santa Bona district) will explore local population’s needs, map the existing multisectoral services, and develop comprehensive service delivery and guidance to ensure collaboration among service providers and local authorities.

As a result, local public authorities will be able to close existing gaps, provide guidance and support to their citizens and ensure easier access to information and ensure multisectoral collaboration for better health and wellbeing of the local communities.
