The 2025 Ambrela Development Forum in Bratislava (Slovakia) on 16 October 2025 brought together representatives from government, EU institutions, international organisations, civil society, and the private sector to discuss coordinated responses to humanitarian and development challenges in CEI countries and beyond.
Exchanges focused on Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction, humanitarian aid in times of crisis, the green transition, public health and the transfer of know-how on EU accession, fostering partnership-based approaches and practical cooperation.
CEI Deputy Secretary General, Yurii Mushka reaffirmed the CEI’s commitment to collaborative growth and sustainable development.
He underlined the importance of joint efforts in addressing today’s global challenges:
“At the CEI, we see these challenging times as a moment of renewal. The EU, the UN, and regional organizations like ours play a vital role in shaping change, but they cannot do it alone. Civil societies and NGOs are essential to building stronger communities — helping to restore hope, rebuild trust, and heal trauma, as we see in Ukraine’s journey from relief to renewal. Only together can we turn today’s challenges into opportunities and hierarchies into partnerships.”
Building capacities and cooperation networks that will foster environmental protection and resilience on the regional and transnational level as well as encouraging collective efforts in safeguarding the natural heritage and fostering biodiversity.
This event was organised by Ambrela – Platforma rozvojových organizácií, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic (including the National CEI Coordinator) and hosted at Comenius University in Bratislava (Moyzesova Hall).
