The CEI-Executive Secretariat and the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI) Secretariat and have signed a new two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the period 2025-2027, reaffirming the commitment of both parties to regional cooperation and the fight against corruption.
This agreement formalises the long-standing collaboration between the two Organisations and highlights their shared objective to promote European integration and its values.
As part of this renewed partnership, the Director of the RAI Secretariat, Desislava Gotskova, and CEI Secretary General, Franco Dal Mas, held a very productive meeting in Sarajevo on 15 May 2025. In this context, SG Dal Mas stated:
“The CEI is strongly committed to the anti-corruption cause, which we consider fundamental for advancing European integration - our core mission. I am pleased that we have found a solid partner in RAI to further this agenda.”
Echoing this sentiment, Director Gotskova expressed appreciation for CEI’s support, emphasising the importance of joint efforts in promoting transparency and accountability across Central and South-Eastern Europe.
“Our cooperation addresses common challenges and creates opportunities for regional progress through enhanced collaboration,” she said.
The MoU outlines a structured framework for cooperation, including joint activities, exchange of expertise and information, mutual participation in events, and coordinated efforts to advance anti-corruption initiatives and regional stability. It also promotes inclusive approaches, encouraging the involvement of youth, women, and marginalised communities in regional efforts.
As she prepares to leave her post, SG Dal Mas extended his best wishes to Director Gotskova for her future endeavours. He also noted:
“Looking ahead, the CEI will continue to focus on judicial diplomacy and anti-corruption through the Falcone-Borsellino Programme, developed by Italy and the Serbian CEI Presidency. We believe this initiative holds great potential to open new avenues for cooperation also with RAI”.
