The Blue Danube Film Festival is a film festival, which showcases independent films from the Danube region. The CEI specifically supported the screenings in Bratislava and Budapest as well as meetings and workshops involving young filmmakers from several CEI countries including Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Italy, and Slovakia. The filmmakers met in Budapest on 3-5 October and participated in a series of screenings and professional development activities aimed at creating a platform for young filmmakers with the view of establishing relationships and collaborations. The screenings featured a broad selection of short films such as documentaries, animations, and fiction.
A notable event was a scriptwriting workshop held by American scriptwriter Tracy Holder on 4 October, which provided valuable insights to the participants. Additionally, the festival encouraged interaction between filmmakers and audiences, with screenings followed by discussions where directors shared their thoughts on the films and answered questions from attendees.
The films screened during the Festival were evaluated by a professional jury which assigned several prizes in different categories.
