Location
Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

A groundbreaking regional workshop dedicated to advancing audience engagement strategies in Public Service Media (PSM) will take place in Sarajevo, gathering media professionals from ten countries. Supported by the Central European Initiative (CEI) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), this initiative is implemented by the Office of Eurovision Regional News Exchange for Southeast Europe (ERNO) and aims to empower public broadcasters with cutting-edge tools for digital content production, audience development, and AI-driven media strategies.

The workshop will focus on the evolving role of PSMs in a rapidly changing media environment, emphasizing the importance of data-driven journalism, AI-assisted content strategies, and innovative digital storytelling techniques. Participants will explore how audience analytics, AI-driven content recommendations, and social media engagement can help media organizations build stronger connections with their audiences.

By bringing together leading experts from BBC, Deutsche Welle, Swissinfo, and YLE, the event will showcase best practices for navigating digital transformation while upholding editorial integrity and journalistic independence.

An important outcome of the workshop will be the establishment of the ERNO Regional Network of Audience Editors, a collaborative platform designed to facilitate knowledge-sharing, joint projects, and sustainable audience engagement strategies across the region. In addition, an exclusive Train-the-Trainer session led by the EBU Academy will ensure that the knowledge gained is passed on within participating media organisations, strengthening institutional capacity in the long term.
