On 23 September, Secretary General Franco Dal Mas participated in the Sixth Summit of the "International Crimea Platform", held in New York on the margins of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Summit brought together Ukraine and its international partners to reaffirm support for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while keeping international attention focused on Crimea and on the broader consequences of the war for European and international security.
“Supporting Ukraine today means defending not only the sovereignty and territorial integrity of a country, but also the principles underpinning the security and stability of Europe as a whole. It is essential that the international community remain united and translate its commitment into concrete action,” Secretary General Dal Mas said on the sidelines of the Summit.
On this occasion, Dal Mas reaffirmed the CEI’s continued support for Ukraine and its European path, highlighting the Organisation’s concrete engagement through cooperation projects and initiatives supporting recovery and reconstruction.
The participation in the Crimea Platform forms part of Secretary General Dal Mas’s mission to New York during the high-level week of the United Nations General Assembly, providing an opportunity to reiterate the CEI’s commitment to multilateral cooperation, international law, and a stronger and more secure Europe.
