The theme of this conference is Danube-wide Newt Conservation and Climate Change. Newts and in general amphibians are excellent indicators of climate change and wetland quality in the protected areas along the Danube.
The event aims at establishing a new Danube-wide Newt Conservation Partnership for the conservation of newts and their habitats. This partnership will consist of representatives of DANUBEPARKS members as well as external experts for Newt Conservation.
Experts will develop a new concept for a funding proposal which should result in a follow-up project.
