Romania calls Russian drone strike a dangerous and irresponsible escalation

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 29 - The Romanian Ministry of Defence confirmed today that a Russian drone hit a residential building in Romania, a NATO member country, overnight. "During the night of May 28-29, the Russian Federation resumed drone strikes on civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine near the river border with Romania," the ministry said. Romania described the strike and the resulting violation of its airspace as "a serious and irresponsible escalation," according to several media outlets, including the Ukrainian news agency RBC, AFP, and CBS. Bucharest has already notified the NATO Secretary-General. (ANSA).
